Achievers’ Crew Ignites Igbogbo Day Grand Finale With Colours, Glamour

Chieftains and members of the Achievers’ Crew and their wives at the grand finale of Igbogbo Day Celebration

The Achievers’ Crew stood out among other clubs, associations and societies that participated in the just concluded 2025 Igbogbo Day Celebration with its colourful, elegant and awesome first participation in the annual event.

The grand finale attended by several traditional rulers, government functionaries, eminent personalities, captains of industry among others took place at the Zumratul Islamiyah Secondary School, Igbogbo at the weekend.

From the Achievers’ Crew members entrance, which was a well -organised procession to the paying of homage to the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Emugoriade I, other royal fathers and dignitaries to the crew’s tent, where it hosted its members and guests, Achievers’ Crew stood out.

Unlike others that activities were just the usual dining and wining, under the crew’s tent was another set of activities – induction of seven new members and award presentations to five deserving members of the crew with some eminent personalities gracing the event. In attendance to celebrate with the crew were Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, Chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, who is also the Deputy Chairman, BOT, Achievers’ Crew, Hon. (Dr.) Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA), representative Ikorodu Constituency II, Hon. Sunday Benson, Chairman, Imota LCDA, Hon. Nurudeen Solaja, former representative Ikorodu Constituency II, Hon. Sunday Benson, Chairman, Imota LCDA, Dr. (Otunba) Saheed Ibikunle, Permanent Member, Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Stephen Adesemoye, former Head of Department, Mass Communication Department, Princess Saidat Adeoba Odeyemi, Councillor representing Ward C3, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Mr Yomi Agoro, NAMA Senior Executive;and Alhaji Sulaimon Ayokunle, the Alakoso Adinni, Igbogbo Central Mosque and CEO Sula Bread.

Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, Oba Kasali also took off time to spend some minutes at the Achievers’ Crew stand with his chiefs.

Alhaji Wasiu Olowu, the Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Comrade Olalekan Biliamin Oba, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Social Development, Barr. Gbemileke Bakare, a legal practitioner and former SUG LASU executive, Mr Idris Adeshina, a public servant and former Secretary, Igbogbo Day Planning Committee, Mr Dauda Oshinlaja, former Supervisor, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Dr Abdulfatai Andu, a medical practitioner, General Hospital, Ikorodu, Mr Idris Salau and Mr Ogunbanwo Damilola, Senior Finance and Account Officer, Lagos State Local Government Commission were new members inducted into the noble organisation.

At the event, the Mayor of the crew, Engr. Gbenga Adegbite Ogunlewe, BOT Chairman, Mr Olugbenga Oduniyi, Deputy BOT Chairman, Omoba Hammed Aroyewun, BOT Secretary, Mr Olabode Oyesanya were honoured with Excellence Awards while two chieftains of the Achievers’ Crew Elders’ Council, Kunle Adelabu and Dr. Adeleke Dankuwo, were bestowed with Special Recognition Awards.

Welcoming members and guests, Mr Oduniyi, Achievers’ Crew BOT Chairman thanked all the guests for their presence and support and emphasised the importance of the crew and how quality individuals are identifying with it.

“Achievers’ Crew has come to stay with eminent individuals identifying with us.

“Today, we are celebrating Igbogbo Day which is our festival, identity, and what we believe in as a cultural heritage. It is the celebration of who we are and our achievements. We are to celebrate ourselves and what we have achieved over the years

“Today, the Achievers’ Crew is marking its first outing on Igbogbo Day with the induction of new members – eight of them from over 25 applications that we received. Before their admission, they went through rigorous screening and among them is a doctor, a lawyer, and other professionals.

HRM Oba Semiudeen Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, his chiefs and Dr Saheed Ibikunle, also identifying with the Achievers’ Crew.

“So, we are not just achievers by name but also in action and deeds,” he said.

Omo’ba Hammed Aroyewun, Chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, expressed that he is proud of his group and urged members to be good ambassadors of the Achievers’ Crew because of the prominent level that the group has attained.

“I must say with every sense of responsibility that I am a bonafide member of Achievers’ Crew and I had achieved being a member. when it was tough; Achievers’ Crew members were in solidarity with me.

“We are a positive and forward -looking organisation. We embarked on prayers session sometime ago and our prayers were answered and I have no doubt that there are still greater opportunities for members of the Achievers’ Crew ahead.

“I am proud of my group and we are now the cynosure of all eyes and that means that we must be conscious of our attitudes and conduct especially in the public. This is because as Achievers, we represent quality, good governance, community development and both human and physical growth.

“So, it is important now that we must be very conscious of the name so as to maintain its positiveness.”

In his own remarks, Hon. Nurudeen Solaja, appreciating the crew, said that he has seen improvement and progress among members of the group since he has been identifying with them.

He also lauded the caliber of people within the group and charged them to always participate in other community days across Ikorodu Division.

The former lawmaker who openly affirmed that he is a member of Achievers’ Crew pledged his continuous support for the group.

Also speaking, Hon. Aro Moshood, congratulated and lauded members of the crew stating that one of the factors that greatly assisted him to be a good businessman is membership of an organization like the Achievers’ Crew.

He emphasised the need for cooperation, unity and partnership among members while also expressing that he is “super proud” of the organisation and how they have come.

Hon. Aro also said that he has no doubt that the group will continue to impact Igbogbo, Ikorodu Division, Lagos State and humanity in general.

He felicitated with the new members and charged them to bring positive impact on the organisation.

While Hon. Sunday Benson Ayodele, Chairman, Imota LCDA congratulated members of the crew for their positive contributions since its beginning. He also urged them to continue to bond to get to greater heights.

Dr Stephen Adesemoye congratulated the new inductees and charged them to contribute their quota to the crew’s development.

The university don also charged members of the crew to see their network as their net worth and urged them to continue to network and improve on it.

Barr. ‘Leke Bakare who spoke on behalf of the new inductees thanked the Achievers’ Crew BOT, Elders Council and entire members of the crew for the opportunity given to them and pledged their loyalty, commitment and positive contributions.

It was carnival -like under the Achievers’ tent as members and guests were joined by numerous other well -wishers to wine and dine till late in the night. Indeed, it was a memorable first Igbogbo Day Celebration for chieftains and members of the Achievers’ Crew.
